TV Santa Barbara was proud to serve as a media sponsor the the 2024 Black is Beautiful Gala. The Black is Beautiful Gala and Fundraiser was held on Friday, February 23rd at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort in The Grand Ballroom and raised funds for Healing Justice. The program featured local artist and performer, Vivian Storm, and included musical performances by the Inner Light Gospel Choir, Santa Barbara Unified School District  Honor Band, a special HBCU Majorette Tribute by P Money Experience. The sold out event also featured a Divine 9 Stroll, the Black Legacy Awards, a raffle giveaway and the Black/African American Santa Barbara Historical Timeline exhibition.

Healing Justice Santa Barbara aspires to uplift all Black/African Americans to affirm that they are deserving of safety, love, equity, respect, and joy. We do this with the goals of providing a Black/African American Cultural Resource Center, celebrating and funding the Arts, Public Safety, Support for Our Youth in Education, Environmental Justice and Sustainability, Outreach, and Meaningful Collaborations.

TV Santa Barbara (TVSB) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization which operates two community access television channels, 17 and 71. TVSB’s mission is to empower people to make media that matters. TVSB does this by providing residents with the knowledge, resources, and tools to create their own original programming. TV Santa Barbara has served as the local media access center since 1974. With studios at 329 S. Salinas Street, TVSB provides members with access to video production equipment and electronic media resources to facilitate public dialogue, free speech, and participatory democracy; to foster local creativity, education and culture; and to reflect our diverse and amazing community.
